Is Marhgil Macuha A Pushover?

Is this an easy way to make money online you ask? Not so fast my friends. As I write this there are 3,470 results for the search term Marhgil Macuha and the competition doesn’t close for a couple of weeks. While 3,470 not a staggering number of results, it can be assumed that the majority of them will be optimized for a search on Marhgil Macuha. Pretty stiff competition!

But if you operate a make money blog or you just want to make money blogging on some other niche blog, Marhgil Macuha’s contest could be for you. While $150 is not a lot, the experience you will gain in search engine optimization could be invaluable. Remember - you will need a high search engine ranking if you are to monetize your blog. And for this search engine optimization strategy, you don’t have to worry about how to choose keywords - Marhgil has provided them.

Marhgil Macuha to run for president…

So, as you might have guessed, the primary purose of this post is to enter the Marhgil Macuha seo contest. But I do have an ultierior motive. Coincidently, just after I read about Marhgil Macuha, I also came across some posts by Vic at Blogger Unleashed (Vic is one of the guys behind Blogging Zoom). If you want to be entertained and insulted at the same time, I suggest you pay Vic a visit (unless you are offended by profanity). In his post How To Get Google Juice, Vic describes a method for making sure you posts get indexed more quickly. The idea is that I use a search term for which Google has no results - say Marhgil Macuha to run for president - in this post, do a search for it on Google and finally publish the post and let my blog ping Google Blog Search. For details on how this works, skip down to the comments section of Vic’s post.

Hopefully, once I have done this, my post on Marhgil Macuha will be indexed straight away. Once I publish this post, I will check to see whether it has been indexed then post an update.

Update: My attempt at Vic’s trick of using an unsearched term like “Marhgil Macuha to run for president” didn’t seem to pay off. While I did eventually get indexed, it was about average for articles on this blog - nowhere near the 6 minutes Vic achieved. I guess I will need to work on this one. What would Marhgil Macuha say?

Update 2: I read on Grizzly’s blog that he believes longer posts do better in google because you have an opportunity to include chosen keywords (in this case Marhgil Macuha) more often, but still maintain the same keyword density. This means that if I use Marhgil Macuha 3 times every 100 words and write 300 words, I will repeat Marhgil Macuha 9 times. However, if I maintain the same density but write 1000 words, I will fit my keyword in 30 times. Grizzly thinks Google will give more weight to the pages with higher absolute numbers of keywords provided their density doesn’t make them look like spam.

So, to recap -> longer posts + same keyword density = more keywords and higher search engine ranking.

By adding another 200 - 300 words to this post, I have increased the number of times I can use the keyword Marhgil Macuha. And all (hopefully) without tripping Google’s spam filters. The number of times that Marhgil Macuha appears in this post should leave search engines in no doubt as to what this page is about.

    Just a quick update on the Marhgil Macuha mini SEO contest.

    My entry now ranks 6th in a search for Marhgil Macuha.

    This places my 4th overall (the first 2 places belong to Marhgil who of course in ineligible).
