Digital Point Keyword Tracker

If you like to dabble in a little amateur SEO (Search Engine Optimization) then the Keyword Tracker tool from Digital Point is very good. Keyword Tracker is a free tool which allows you to track search engine statistics for a number of your websites at once. The statistics tracked at Keyword Tracker are:

  1. Keywords - The tool allows you to enter a url and a keyword or keywords. You can enter in multiple combinations of urls and keywords, until you build up a table of all the keywords you are targetting for all of your websites. Keyword Tracker will display your ranking in google (ie. the position your website will be displayed in for a search on your chosen keywords) and the change in your rank on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  2. Back Links - Keyword Tracker will display the number of links into your site currently available on Google.
  3. Page Rank - The current PR of your blog or other website will be displayed.
  4. Pages in URL - The number of pages from your url which are currently indexed by Google.

The really nice thing about this tool is that you can enter in all of your url/keyword combinations once, then periodically (surely you wouldn’t track this stuff every day - would you?) check how your websites are positioned in google.

Keyword Tracker also has a Custom Charting function. I haven’t used this function much yet, but it lets you graph each of the statistics mentioned above over time.

The Keyword Tracker tool does have an option to check Yahoo instead of Google, but I couldn’t get it to work.

In order to use the Digital Point Keyword Tracker tool, you will need to register for a free account. Part of the registration process requires you to provide your Google API Key (I talked about the Google API Key in my Google Rankings post.

Hi, Added a new value add to my blog this weekend - a news widget from www.widgetmate.com. I always wanted to show latest news for my keywords in my sidebar. It was very easy with this widget. Just a small copy paste and it was done. Great indeed.
