Adsense Ad Positioning

It has only taken me 4 weeks, but I finally got my adsense ads positioned where I want them. I have been trying to get them positioned just under the header, spanning the entire page so they are prominent (but hopefully not in the way). I finally achieved that positioning today.
In order to get the ads where I wanted them, I was not able to use the standard blogger widgets. No matter how hard I tried, I was not able to get the adsense ad style into the position I wanted. In the end I had to manually edit the HTML template to create a separate container in which to place the ads. I also had to use an HTML/JavaScript widget and paste in the code from the adsense admin site to get the type of ad I wanted. In the process of doing this, I learned a lot more about cascading style sheets (css) than I would have liked. I still don’t think the css is quite right because although the page renders correctly when viewed in a browser, the page element applet within blogger does not look right.
Having finally got the ads where and how I want them now, I will leave them like that for a while and monitor how they perform. I will probably change them again down the track just so I can work out what works and what doesn’t.

I turned off my ad blocker just for you
They’re blended nicely, and the position’s fine. Did you consider changing the text colours so they blend even further? I’m experimenting with this on my other blog & it doesn’t look too bad.
Sorry if I’m being daft, but I can’t find anyway to contact you direct on your blog-would you mind emailing me please, I’d like to ask you something.

Many thanks,
Chris.
Thanks for the tip Chris. I will try to change the colors so they blend a little more nicely. To be honest I didn’t notice … familiarity blindness I guess.
Also, I have sent you my contact details.
