Blog Explosion Traffic Exchange

I signed up to the traffic exchange program at Blog Soldiers (read about my Blog Soldiers experience here) the other day. I had also heard about another traffic exchange called Blog Explosion and decided to give it a go as well (as much for comparison purposes as for anything else).
As with most of the various programs I have looked at, the registration process was very easy. Just had to provide a username, password and email address. The account activation email was soon forthcoming and within minutes I was logged in and ready to surf.
One of the problems I had (and this was my fault) was that I forgot to add my blog to my Blog Explosion account. When I signed up for Blog Soldiers it was automatically added at registration. With Blog Explosion it needed to be manually added after I logged into my account. Once I had added my blog and verified it (your blog is displayed as other Blog Explosion members would see it so you can confirm you are happy with it), I went into a queue to be manually checked before going into the rotation. It said it could take up to 72 hours but mine was checked in under 24.
When surfing, there is a timer which counts down (about 20 seconds I think) until you are allowed to move onto the next blog. There is a series of numbers in the “Surfbar” and it will tell you which one to click (to prevent automated surfing I guess). You earn 1 credit for each 2 blogs you surf. You can also earn mystery credits (which I think is just random awarding of credits as you surf).
One of the services Blog Explosion offers to members is the My Banners advertising program.
They also allow you to put your banner on their site. You need to be able to provide the banner and host it yourself.
Another Blog Explosion service (one which has just started) is called Blog Text Links. This is a program in which you show links to other blogs on your blog, and in exchange other blogs will display your link on their blog. The text link code displays 5 text links each time your page is viewed. In return, you earn the right to have your link displayed 2.5 times on other bloggers sites. I thought this sounded good so I am trying the ads on my blog.
Directory Bids is a service where you can put in a bid using your credits to have your blog featured in the blog explosion blog directory. You create your advertisement then select the category and price (in credits) you are willing to pay.
They also offer “My Blog Directory”. It is basically a link they provide for you to place on your blog. It links to what looks like the Blog Explosion Blog Directory. When a person follows your link and signs up to be listed in the blog directory, you earn credits. To go to my My Directory click here.
The last thing I will talk about is the referrals program. When a new member signs up to Blog Explosion using your referrer id (with the link provided) you earn credits as well. You will earn 15% of 1st level sign-ups, 10% for 2nd and 5% for 3rd level. To sign up to Blog Explosion using my referrer id, click here.
