Text Link Ads

I signed up for an account at Text Link Ads today (I read about Text Link Ads over at problogger.net). Text Link Ads appears to be a similar product to Google’s adsense. I know I already use adsense, but I figure I want to try as many things as possible to see what works and what doesn’t. The sign-up process was quite straight forward and can be completed in about 5 minutes. I was interested in both the publisher program and the affiliate program.

I will talk about the affiliate program first as that is what I had more success with. Once I had signed up and activated my account, I simply went to the affiliate area of the website, chose the advertisement layout I wanted, copied the code block and pasted it into my blog template. Worked like a charm. The idea is that I put an advertisement on my site for Text Link Ads, then any referred traffic that results in a new paid client or new publisher will earn me $25.00.

I then went over to the publisher section of the website and was stopped dead in my tracks. It seems that their ads don’t work on a site hosted at blogger.com (like mine is). The program looks quite good so if you host your own site it might be worth a look.
